Scholarship Interview Questions… Getting to the point of interview for your scholarship is a huge accomplishment. This process gives you the experience for when applying for other scholarships, even jobs. But before you can be given the scholarship, you need to successful pass the interview.   1.  Tell us about yourself?

This question is so broad, but you will have to direct the conversation. Start by saying something general about you then point out some interesting parts i.e your skills.

  1. What is your greatest strength/weakness?

This question tests how self aware you are. When talking about your strength, give examples so that it won’t like your story is made up. When talking about your weakness, portray it as something you are trying to improve on and give examples too.

  1. Why do you deserve this scholarship?

Be truthful and honest when answering this question. You have a reason you applied for the scholarship so all you need to do is put into words.

  1.  What are your career goals?

Your interviewers want to see if you have a plan. So this question gives you the opportunity to talk about what you want to do after college and how the scholarship will help you to achieve your goals.

  1. Who is your role model?

Take this question into consideration before answering because the people you admire, say alot about you. Whoever it may be, remember to point out his/her flaws and how they inspire you inspire of those flaws.

  1. What mistakes have you made?

Your interviewers know no human is perfect, they just want to know that you are self-aware of your flaws and what lessons you have learnt from it.

  1. Why did you choose this school?

It should be easy to answer this question.you could say it’s because of the program offered, a family member attended the school or it has been your dream school but all they are interested in knowing is how passionate you are about the school and how committed you will be to earning a degree from the school.

  1. What activities are you involved in?

This question gives you the opportunity to showcase you are willing to work with others, show you have good work ethics and how involved you are in a group. Talk about the groups you have made contributions to and be sure to highlight the activities relating to the scholarship.

  1. What  personal achievement are you proud of?

Talk about something personal you struggled with. It could be when you got promoted in class or when you had an A in a paper you failed for years or any other achievement.

  1.  Is there anything else you want to add?

This question might sound unserious, but you need to take it seriously. It gives you the opportunity to talk about what the interviewer didn’t ask or something you didn’t understand.
