  1. Chevron

This oil and gas company is one of the highest paying companies in Nigeria. This company pays their staff on an hourly basis in US dollars e.g. a sales associate receives $8.73 per hour, an intern is paid $28.66 per hour and a cashier receives $9.54 per hour.

  1. Mobil Petroleum

This is one of the biggest and highest paying oil and gas companies in Nigeria. Though getting a job at Mobil is very difficult. They also pay their staff in US dollars like Chevron; engineers receive a total of $107,477 yearly, process engineers receive $114,526 yearly, project engineers receive a total of $120,055 yearly, senior engineers receive $144, 467 and the interns receive $6,810 monthly.

  1. Nigeria National Petroleum Company (NNPC)

This is one of the highest paying companies in Nigeria. This company pays in the Nigerian local currency, Naira unlike Chevron and Mobil. It is not a foreign company like Chevron and Mobil, it is purely Nigerian. Getting a job in this company is quite difficult but once you are in, it could be the best thing that has ever happened to you.

In this company, a sales manager is paid N314,000 monthly, an economist receives N3.85million yearly and a fresh graduate is paid about N130,000 monthly.

  1. MTN Nigeria

This is a telecommunications company. It became the very first mobile telecommunications in Nigeria. It is called MTN Nigeria in Nigeria and majority of its workers are Nigerians.

They had been paying their workers well but recently, there has been a drop in the salary. Nevertheless, MTN is still one of the highest paying companies in Nigeria.

Customer care representatives receive a salary of  about N83,000 monthly, the Project managers are paid about N839,000 yearly, Program Managers receive up to N9.44 million yearly, the Senior Management members are paid up to N12.4million yearly, Quality Assurance Engineers are paid up to N4.69million yearly.

  1. Nestle Nigeria

This company is into food production and processing. Their staff members have lots of benefit, they have access to health insurance but can only be qualified if he/she has spent 6-12 months as a staff in the company, they also have access to vacations.

The sales managers are paid up to N6.27million yearly while production supervisors are paid up to N5million yearly. The sales rep interns are paid about $19 per hour, interns are paid $22 per hour and the mechanical engineering interns are paid $21 per hour.

  1. Nigerian Civil Service

This is owned by the Federal Government of Nigeria. It is no secret that they pay very well. Though the amount paid varies according to the Ministry you are working in.

Fresh graduates employed into the Nigerian Civil Service on Level 4 Step 1 are paid up to N242,994 yearly, those at Level 17 Step 1 receive up to N4,183,600 yearly.

  1. Total Petroleum

This is one of the biggest and highest paying oil and gas companies in Nigeria. They have up to 1,700 employees. Fresh graduates are paid up to N12million yearly.
