1. Job Title: Staffing Specialist

Location: Lagos

Description

  • The Success Division is responsible for matching Andela developers with our Partners to ensure the best experience for both, enabling Partners to reach their goals while allowing our developers to gain experiences that help them to learn and grow.
  • We are seeking a Staffing Specialist who will assist the Directors of Success in fielding staffing requests from the Revenue team and who will understand the available bench well enough to make confident recommendations to the Directors on who should be put on new engagements.

Job Responsibilities

  • Works closely with the Directors of Success
  • Responds to requests from the Account and Revenue teams regarding the availability of technical resources for partner engagements
  • Works with developers on the bench to make sure that their skills are properly updated in the Andela Information System
  • Evaluate new engagements as they are signed and kick off the developer application process for the engagement
  • Evaluate all applications for an engagement and other potential resources and make recommendations to the Directors of Success on the best resources to staff on the engagement.

Requirements

  • Have at least 3 years of experience working in software development, technology consulting or software product management
  • Have a four-year degree in Engineering, Computer Science or a related field from an accredited university
  • Have experience effectively working remotely
  • Are passionate about the evolving technology landscape and enjoy leveraging advancements to solve business problems
  • Have a strong understanding of agile software development techniques
  • Have the ability to build rapport and communicate with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds

2. Job Title: Executive Coordinator to the Country Director

Location: Lagos

About the Role

  • The Executive Coordinator is experienced in handling a wide range of administrative and executive support-related tasks. He/She is able to work independently with little or no supervision. The Executive Coordinator is a highly resourceful team-player, who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, sometimes under pressure, while remaining flexible, proactive, and efficient.
  • The individual has the ability to exercise good judgment in a variety of situations, with strong written and verbal communication, administrative, and organizational skills, and the ability to maintain a realistic balance among multiple priorities. He/She will report directly to the Country Director.

Responsibilities
Typical day-to-day would involve:

  • Owning and managing administrative tasks for the Country Director (CD).
  • Drafting, editing and formatting documents, reports and presentations.
  • Assessing the priority of incoming and outgoing material to ensure the CD receives accurate and relevant information in a timely and often urgent basis;
  • Managing appointments and an extremely busy/active calendar, agendas, meetings (including virtual) and interactive activities for the CD; Ensuring that activities/meetings commence and end on time.
  • Coordinating the logistical aspects of meetings and events with task owners and bringing together appropriate people and resources to support the CD’s agenda.
  • Coordinating the agenda of senior management team meetings and off-sites.
  • Arranging and managing travel itinerary, agenda and logistics.
  • Retiring expenses of the CD to the finance department.
  • Representing the CD by welcoming visitors/guests, organising dinners and other corporate functions; coordinating responses to questions and meeting requests directed to the CD.

3. Job Title: Team Lead, DevOps

About the Role
In this role, you will primarily work as a Team Lead within the Talent Development department leading a team of apprenticing engineers to ensure that all Andela internal applications and underlying infrastructure are stable and state of the art.

As the senior member of your team, you will take responsibility for the overall planning, execution and success of complex technical projects. You will work closely with the product management and other team leads to ensure we’re building an infrastructure that meets and supports our product needs. You will take pride in managing production systems that are key to helping Andela grow and scale as an organization. You will be responsible for managing the delivery of your work as well as any engineer that work under you.

Responsibilities (Include, but are not limited to)

  • Work closely with Product Managers and Team Leads to understand the infrastructure needs
  • Manage production systems and application deployments
  • Design, implement, and enhance monitoring, metrics, and log aggregation systems
  • Design, implement, and enhance deployment automation tools
  • Share responsibility for strategically scaling Andela’s internal systems
  • Promote and nurture good team practices such as TDD, code reviews, and pair programming

What Makes You a Great Fit for this Role

  • The ability to be located in Lagos, Nigeria or Nairobi, Kenya.
  • 2-5 years building and shipping software products with a DevOps perspective
  • Experience leading a team of engineers in an agile environment (daily standups, sprint planning, retrospectives, etc)

4. Job Title: Director of Staffing

Location: Lagos, Nigeria

About this Role

  • Andela is seeking a Director of Staffing to help build and lead a robust staffing function that can match our developers’ skillset with our partners’ engineering needs in a consultative approach, as we continue to scale.
  • Our partners today range from small businesses to Fortune 500 companies. CTOs and engineering leaders at these organizations supplement their teams with Andela developers who range in background, technical expertise and seniority. Effectively matching the best technical teams for our partners’ needs is at the crux of our value proposition.
  • This position requires a motivated self-starter with an engineering and product background as well as experience in operations.  He or she must be able to work comfortably in a less structured role, drive initiatives from start to finish, and can work effectively at all levels of the organization across Andela’s uniquely cross-cultural environment.
  • This individual will manage a team of 7-10 Andelans, who currently focus on understanding prospects and partners’ technical needs pre-sales, staffing engagements, and providing operational support.

Responsibilities

  • You will own staffing logistics, from a consultative, pre-sales technical assessment to the kick off call, on all engagements (new and upsells)
  • You will continue to build and optimize scalable, data-driven matchmaking process
  • You will ensure we have the right technology for scaling staffing by automating as much as possible
  • You will provide visibility into forecasted supply and prioritized staffing queue to a cross-functional group of stakeholders, including individuals in sales, customer success and developer manager roles
  • You will work with pre-sales, solutions architect team to understand the needs of the partner, any risks, and what is needed to make their ideal suggested solution a reality, taking into account any supply constraints
  • When inventory is unavailable, manage staffing specialists to provide a game plan with the next best option, potential ramp options and time frame for a partner’s proposal
  • You will ensure staffing teams have a deep understanding of developers currently available, including their technical skillset, prior industry experience, and growth desires
  • You will represent staffing team’s voice to Technology Product, Engineering, Talent and Product Marketing teams to ensure team’s needs are being met and we have a scalable staffing solution in place

  • 85% adherence to time to launch SLA
  • 0% gross churn in first 90 days of new business engagement or upsell

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of direct management experience, preferably in a marketplace or consulting environment
  • 5+ years in product, engineering or sales engineering management
  • Previous experience in a partner-facing role
  • Data and solutions-oriented mindset
  • Thrives in ambiguity and is a self-starter with an aptitude for defining new processes, and building new teams [i.e. Entrepreneurial – has done this before but is ready to get their hands dirty]
