Their investors cheered them to work something out with Jobs, so they agreed to sell him shares worth 19 percent of the company, which Jobs paid five-time of their company’s valuation at that time, plus a five-year license fee for PostScript, in advance. The purchase made Adobe the first company in the history of Silicon Valley to become profitable in its first year

Adobe released Adobe Media Player in the month of April 2008. On April 27, Adobe discontinued development and sales of its older web development software, Go-Live in favor of Dreamweaver. Adobe offered a discount on Dreamweaver for Go-Live users and also supports those who still use Go-Live with online tutorials and migration assistance.

In the month of June 1, Adobe launched Acrobat.com, a series of web applications geared for collaborative work. Creative Suite 4, which includes Web, Production Premium, and Master Collection, came out in October 2008 in six configurations at prices from about USD $1,700 to $2,500.The Windows version of Photoshop includes 64-bit processing.  3rd December 2008, Adobelay off 600 of its employees citing the weak economic environment.
